From Diligence Through Exit, Without the Handoff

The gap between advisory work and technical execution has always created risk. The diligence team identifies what needs to be built while a different firm inherits the work. Context is lost, urgency dissipates, and the value creation timeline starts slipping before execution has begun.

Resultant and Liberty Advisor Group closed that gap. Liberty brings 18 years of PE-native advisory judgment and a track record across more than 300 transactions. Resultant brings a 350-person technology, data, AI, and managed services bench that has been delivering inside PE-owned organizations since 2008. Together, the same team that helps you understand what you're buying can carry that work through to execution, on your terms, without introducing a third party.

What this combination means for Liberty clients

The advisors who built your relationships are still here, and the hands-on approach Liberty has always brought to engagements hasn't changed. The difference is that technical execution is now available within the same firm.

For years, Liberty's advisors identified what portfolio companies needed to build and then referred that work elsewhere. That handoff created risk that wasn't fully in Liberty's control and outcomes that weren't always what the advisory work had envisioned.

That referral is no longer necessary. When the hold period plan requires technical execution, the capability is here. Infrastructure carveouts, data platform builds, ERP rationalization, AI implementation, managed services. The same firm that understood the deal can execute the plan.

Joining Resultant creates powerful opportunities for our PE partners and their portfolio companies. Our clients now have access to a significantly broader range of technical capabilities in AI, advanced analytics, and digital transformation, the primary levers for modern value creation.

How Resultant and Liberty came together

Greg Layok and Chad Smith have known each other for 25 years. When Layok proposed the acquisition, the strategic logic was already clear to both of them. Liberty had the deal experience and the client relationships. Resultant had the delivery infrastructure. Each firm had spent years doing adjacent work for the same kinds of clients without a clean way to connect the two.

What neither CEO knew when the conversation started was that Resultant's PE sponsor had independently been using Liberty for advisory work for nearly two years. The firm that owned Resultant had already validated Liberty's practice from the client side before the acquisition was ever on the table. When the deal came together, it confirmed what the work had already shown.

We’re proud to welcome Liberty to the Resultant platform. As private equity sponsors ourselves, we understand well how the quality of technology and data systems drive value at portfolio companies, especially around M&A integration. Liberty is a world-class operator in this domain, and we look forward to bringing this expertise and capabilities to Resultant’s clients.

Resultant CEO Greg Layok said of the combined vision, “The addition deepens our expertise in M&A transaction services and portfolio management, particularly for private equity clients who require trusted advisors throughout the entire investment lifecycle.”

What each firm brings that the other can’t replicate

Liberty has spent 18 years building one of the most respected M&A advisory practices in the mid-market. Its senior advisors have worked alongside deal teams, operating partners, and PortCo leadership across more than 300 transactions. That volume builds pattern recognition you can't manufacture, and client relationships that hold because of how Liberty engages with clients.

Resultant has built deep experience delivering technology and data solutions inside PE-owned organizations, including infrastructure carveouts, managed services transitions, data platform builds, and AI implementations. That work was already PE-native before Liberty joined. What it lacked was advisory judgment at the front of the deal, the kind that comes from reading hundreds of transactions and knowing which technology risks affect purchase price and which don't.

The two firms were solving adjacent problems for the same clients. The combination puts both capabilities in one engagement, under one accountable team, from diligence through exit.
