Strategic Data Roadmap

Rein in organization-wide data chaos and get concrete action steps that bring better business outcomes.

How It Helps

Everyone has data, but not everyone is making good use of it.

The lack of a clearly defined, actionable data strategy inevitably leads to disjointed technologies, misaligned stakeholder expectations, and wasted investment.

A Strategic Data Roadmap (SDR) shows tangible actions, not theories, to make your data do more for your business. Resultant’s data governance specialists, data engineers, data architects, and business consultants dig into the larger story of your data to understand the full context of your business, strategy, and processes—and build a plan of action that makes sense.

FAQS

How is a Strategic Data Roadmap different from an assessment?

A typical assessment provides plenty of information but lacks true guidance. An SDR has a bias toward action, meaning each phase focuses on aligning your data to your business goals and gives you well-defined next steps to take. You get an actual data strategy and the knowledge of what skills, tech, and budget are necessary to execute on that strategy.

Is a Strategic Data Roadmap customizable?

Yes! The SDR outlines three phases: discovery and planning, strategic design, and delivery. However, the execution of these phases is customized to your business goals, providing you with quick wins upfront while also setting you up for long-term success.

What does a Strategic Data Roadmap include?

A planning and discovery phase with current state assessment and stakeholder interviews; a strategic design phase with a high-level data architecture blueprint, defined KPIs and metrics, a data governance framework, and more; and a delivery phase with a fleshed-out roadmap to show tech, skill, and budget requirements, project priorities, and (for some projects) a rapid prototype for quick wins. Each SDR phase includes organizational change management (OCM) and project management throughout the process.

Who from my organization is involved in a Strategic Data Roadmap?

An SDR is built with involvement of various members of your organization, depending on the size of the company and the size of the problem the roadmap seeks to solve.

Which industries will a Strategic Data Roadmap work for?

An SDR benefits every industry. We’ve seen exceptional success in private healthcare, transportation, private equity firms and portfolio companies, and professional services firms.
