EVP Mike Vance honored as Top Tech Exec of 2022; Director of Education Practice Curt Merlau named to 2022 Tech 25 Class

INDIANAPOLIS — The Indianapolis Business Journal and TechPoint have named EVP of Professional Services Mike Vance the 2022 Tech Exec of the Year, and Curt Merlau, Senior Director of Resultant’s Education Practice, to the 2022 Class of Tech 25 winners.

Tech Exec of the Year Awards honor Chief Technology Officers or those in the top information technology positions within their organizations. These valued individuals play vital roles in making Indianapolis-area businesses, institutions, and not-for-profit groups successful. Vance was honored as the Top Tech Exec of the Year in the category of “Private Companies with More than $100M in Revenue.”

Since joining Resultant in 2019, Vance tripled the size of Resultant’s IT managed services business, bringing the department’s full-time employee headcount from 40 to 120 and standing up teams specifically focused on mid-market and enterprise clients. Within those two years, Resultant also moved up-market to land several of what would be the firm’s biggest IT MSP clients ever, including a 3-year, $11.7M contract to serve as The City of Fort Wayne and Allen County’s IT managed service partner. Under Vance’s leadership, Resultant was named a 2021 Best Place to Work in IT and a top three organization for career development, as well as a 2022 Google Cloud Partner of the Year for the Public Sector.

The Tech 25 awards honor a prestigious selection of 25 individuals who are critical and exceptional performers in helping to grow our community’s tech and tech-enabled companies.

In his three years at Resultant, 2022 Tech 25 honoree Curt Merlau has led or assisted project teams on multiple difference-making education projects for states across the country, including supporting Ed-Fi data standard implementations and building sustainable mixed delivery systems to enhance delivery of early care and education (ECE) services. He also oversaw the development of Indiana’s Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) spending dashboard, which provides transparency into how districts across the state are allocating funds. Merlau is the fourth Rezzer in four years to be named to the Tech 25 list, joining peers Max Brundige (Class of 2019), Dan LaBar (Class of 2020), and Amrutha Pulikottil (Class of 2021) in receiving the honor.
