Anna Hubley is a Project Coordinator with Resultant’s Project Services team. Although her pipe dream job is to be a Ski Instructor, she’s found that her passion for technology and working with people have helped her—and her clients—be successful in coordinating IT projects.
What led you to be an IT Project Coordinator?
I’ve always had an interest in technology. When I was in college, I didn’t know what I wanted to major to be. I learned about Informatics, and, thinking it sounded cool, I took a class and ended up loving it and majoring in it. Plus, I’ve always wanted to work with people. This job lets me do both, and it’s fun.
Wait, what is Informatics?
Computer Science is the hardware and in-depth building of technology. Informatics is how people use technology. You learn some coding and some database stuff. It is a non-hardcore computer science degree.
How do you see technology reshaping your life?
I think it shapes everything I do for my work in terms of the tools that I use and the work that I do. It can be a convenience and it can be a hassle. The thing I love about it is that it grows so fast and it changes so fast and there’s always something new to learn. That’s part of what I love about working in technology as well.
What fresh perspective do you bring to tech?
I’m extroverted and kind of loud. I’m pretty loud and I dance around and sing in our quiet workroom to bring some brightness into our days.
What is your favorite book?
I just finished the book, “Delivering Happiness” written by Tony Hseih, the CEO of Zappos. Read it for our Project Services book club. It was really good and very inspiring. Zappos was one of the leading companies in terms of developing a people-first tech culture.
In the next year, what are you most excited about?
I’m taking on some new work right now, and learning a new project is going to be exciting. As well, Resultant is growing so fast, and we’re hiring tons of people. I like meeting our new people and getting to see what kind of work we’re doing for our clients and communities.
