After attending Texas A&M University, she began her career at the American Red Cross, which sparked her passion for service and led her to work with government agencies. Most recently, Lara partnered with organizations to innovate and streamline their grant management processes. These experiences offered unique insight into program challenges.

Lara lives in Houston with her husband and four rescue dogs, all of whom share her interest in hiking and golf.
