INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 17, 2025) — Resultant, a leading technology and data analytics consulting firm, announced today that it has promoted Dr. Curt Merlau to Vice President, Education Practice.
When Curt joined Resultant in 2019, Resultant’s work education represented a small portion of our portfolio—about $3.5 million in revenue. Under Curt’s leadership, the education practice grew to generate $18 million in revenue in 2021 and $24 million in 2023. Further, between 2023 and 2024 alone, the practice has grown sales from net new clients by 318%.
As Senior Director of the Education Practice, Curt was not only able to establish Education as a market vertical within Resultant, but also create a repeatable market model that’s now been adopted across the organization. Along with the revenue growth, Curt has grown his team from one to 15. Resultant has also brokered partnerships with large ed tech companies and organizations under Curt’s leadership, and his team now serves organizations across the entire education continuum: early childhood through post-secondary.
“Curt has not only driven remarkable business growth at Resultant, but also has played an outsized role in delivering innovative, data-driven solutions that have profoundly impacted education systems across the nation,” said John Roach, Resultant President. “Curt is a visionary in using data to solve problems plaguing the education sector, as evidenced by innovative solutions his team has created that diverge from traditional approaches.”
Curt’s work is changing how education systems use data and technology to improve student outcomes. Iowa’s Child Care Connect, a first-of-its-kind website offering near real-time views of supply-and-demand, was Curt’s brainchild. Further, Resultant received the Ed-Fi Alliance’s 2023 Innovation of the Year Award for the Indiana Graduates Prepared to Succeed (GPS) dashboard, and Indiana’s Attendance Insights Dashboard was featured at the White House’s Every Day Counts Summit in May 2024.
Curt is a sixth-generation Hoosier and a first-generation college student, and is passionate about giving kids like him opportunities through education. He has a B.S. in Education from Taylor University; a Master of Education from Indiana University; and a Doctor of Education from Vanderbilt University. He also holds a certificate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Artificial Intelligence: Implications for Business Strategy.
