Resultant Helps “Spark” Interest in Tech Careers

This past week, Resultant was proud to participate in the Junior Achievement Job Spark event. JA JobSpark is a virtual career fair that impacts over 10,000 eighth-graders in Indianapolis. The event was created to “spark” excitement in the future for young students.

The events at the fair included presentations on writing resumes, job interview Dos and Don’ts, career assessments, and presentations from companies in Indianapolis. Luke Zhang, Senior Data Scientist at Resultant, presented on his path from student to Data Scientist.

Involvement in events that foster the future of tech in Indianapolis is crucial to companies like Resultant. Our mission of helping clients, coworkers, and communities thrive drives us to actively participate in building a diverse pipeline of tech talent that better reflects the communities where Resultant lives and works.  In addition to Luke’s presentation, members of our team shared their careers paths and about what a career in consulting has entailed for them.

There is a greater problem in the tech industry: the issue of diversity. As a community, we seek to remedy this gap and hire diverse talent. By increasing exposure to and fostering an interest in these careers at a young age, programs can prepare students to become data and tech employees in the future. JobSpark prepares students for the future through practical lessons and Resultant looks forward to hiring the next generation of problem solvers to our team.
