Sean Gill didn’t set out with a plan to work in education policy, but his passion about the future of learning and improving student pathways led him to work with organizations seeking to make the world a better place—often through policy.
He began his career at the California State Auditor’s Office leading legislative audits and program evaluations.
At the Center on Reinventing Public Education, Sean led research projects and wrote policy briefs to create and sustain better learning opportunities for all children and their families on topics including personalized learning, special education, governance, and finance. He planned the center’s outreach events, facilitated practitioner convenings for planning long-term system improvement, and presented and moderated panels at national conferences to spark needed discourse and debate.
At Resultant, Sean leads the design of complex solutions for state education agency and school district clients that combine people, process, and technology to meet the needs of students, their schools, and their communities. He also provide subject matter expertise in education policy and school finance, helping to define, prioritize, and achieve strategic objectives for IT modernization and other programs or projects.
Sean enjoys traveling and makes the most of his time outside of work at his home on the west coast by reading, hiking, going to the beach, and crewing. We’re anxiously awaiting Sean and Julia Rickart Gubbins to spearhead the formation of the Resultant rowing team.
