Amy Smigielski

Early Care and Education Manager

With over 15 years of experience, Amy is first and always an early childhood practitioner. She began her career as a teacher, first educating children in the K-12 system before moving to the Head Start community serving infants and toddlers as a teacher and administrator. Amy has worked within other facets of the early childhood community including child care resource and referral and private non-profits.

A collaborative leader known for effective evaluation of systems, Amy is gifted at identifying concrete implementation strategies grounded in best practices, defining and refining educational philosophies, establishing functional systems, and identifying curricula that best align with program needs.

Amy developed Indiana’s first alternative early childhood professional career pathway allowing for field experience to lead to course credit. She also led the redesign of family-facing support services related to Child Care Development Block Grant consumer education requirements.

At Resultant, she leads the early childhood team as they support states to develop data systems that facilitate a better understanding for stakeholders about the early learning landscape—from real-time child care vacancy to the needs of the workforce and beyond.

Amy is passionate about our youngest learners and families and is driven to get data into the hands of early learning stakeholders to empower them to advocate and make system changes to better support children.

She believes that even as adults we should get to experience child-like joy and that it should be embedded in a relationship-based approach to getting work done. She’s intentional about ensuring teams and clients make time to have human connections and laugh together to better push through the hard work.

Outside of work, you’re likely to find Amy cooking up something delicious to share with others. From making pasta and bread from scratch to smoking brisket to serve at the neighborhood block party, she loves all things food.
